BISMARCK – Julie Fedorchak today announced a coalition of veterans supporting her campaign that includes all former living Adjutants General of the North Dakota National Guard.
The group is chaired by retired U.S. Marine Brian Kalk and Julie’s husband Mike Fedorchak, a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
“I am honored and grateful for the support of these veterans, including all the living former leaders of our North Dakota National Guard. They embody the spirit of service and sacrifice that forms the backbone of our nation,” Fedorchak said. “I look forward to working with these and other North Dakota veterans to ensure their voices are heard and our government supports them as needed and promised. We will honor their sacrifices with the respect and dignity they deserve.”
Kalk, a former Public Service Commissioner, served with Julie for three years on the PSC.
“I am humbled to be chairing this coalition along with Julie’s husband, Mike,” Kalk said. “I had the honor of working daily with Julie on the PSC. She is intelligent, articulate, and understands that energy security means national security. Finally, Julie knows about the commitment our veterans make to serve our great country and will ensure our veterans are always treated fairly and with respect. She has my unwavering support!”
The coalition is a group of veterans who support Fedorchak, know she appreciates our nation’s service men and women, and believe she will use good judgement in representing our state in Congress. Coalition members will also serve as advisors to Fedorchak on military and veterans issues.
The Coalition’s first event is a Veteran Appreciation Coffee Friday, April 26 at 3:00 pm at the Minot VFW.
North Dakota is home to more than 55,000 veterans and has one of the highest per-capita rates of military service in the country. Fedorchak’s family has a history of service.
